چکیده

In topology optimization, the state of structures is typically obtained by numerically evaluating a discretized PDE-based model. The degrees freedom such model can be partitioned in free and prescribed sets to define boundary conditions. A multi-partition problem involves multiple partitions same discretization, corresponding different loading scenarios. As result, solving problems factorization/preconditionings system matrix, requiring high computational effort. this paper, novel method proposed efficiently calculate responses accompanying design sensitivities using static condensation for use gradient-based optimization. main class that benefits from optimization small-displacement multi-input-multi-output compliant mechanisms. We present its formulation an algorithmic complexity analysis estimate advantages both direct iterative solution methods solve equations, verified numerical experiments. It demonstrated substantial gains are achievable large-scale problems. This especially true with small set number fully describes performance structure large similarities between partitions. major contribution gain lack adjoint analyses required obtain measure.

Efficient Combination of Topology and Parameter Optimization

This paper presents a combination method of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and topology optimization. With this method a better result can be achieved compared with the sequential application of these two optimization methods. It inherits the ability in finding global optimum from PSO and also suits for discretized design domain. Some special schemes are used in order to provide higher compu...

EFFICIENT SIMULATION FOR OPTIMIZATION OF TOPOLOGY, SHAPE AND SIZE OF MODULAR TRUSS STRUCTURES

The prevalent strategy in the topology optimization phase is to select a subset of members existing in an excessively connected truss, called Ground Structure, such that the overall weight or cost is minimized. Although finding a good topology significantly reduces the overall cost, excessive growth of the size of topology space combined with existence of varied types of design variables challe...

Efficient Convex Optimization for Minimal Partition Problems with Volume Constraints

Minimal partition problems describe the task of partitioning a domain into a set of meaningful regions. Two important examples are image segmentation and 3D reconstruction. They can both be formulated as energy minimization problems requiring minimum boundary length or surface area of the regions. This common prior often leads to the removal of thin or elongated structures. Volume constraints i...

Efficient topology optimization in MATLAB using 88 lines of code

This paper presents an efficient 88 line MATLAB code for topology optimization. It has been developed using the 99 line code presented by Sigmund (2001) as a starting point. The original code has been extended by a density filter, and a considerable improvement in efficiency has been achieved, mainly by preallocating arrays and vectorizing loops. A speed improvement with a factor of 100 is achi...
